Day 1: New DelhiWelcome to New Delhi – and the start of your India group tour! You’ll meet your group and Adventure Leader this morning, where you’ll get a trip briefing to lay out your fortnight’s travels and tips on staying safe in India. After this, it’s off to your first unmissable experience – a Hindi language lesson. Your local guide will take you through the basics and key phrases that you’ll need for your next two weeks. From there, it’s off for a tour of the city’s highlights. You’ll visit Old Delhi and its temples and spice markets, Connaught Place in the downtown district, and the beautiful Sri Bangla Sahib Gurdwara. This evening, you and your group will pay a visit to Sis Ganj Sikh Temple, which is one of the nine historical gurdwaras in Delhi. After that, you’re free to explore the area to grab yourself some dinner – and don’t forget to ask your Adventure Leader for tips! Day 2: New DelhiIf you’re an early riser, you can head down to Lodhi Gardens with your group to kick the day off with a game of ultimate frisbee! If you’d rather have a slight lie in, you might opt to join your group a little later and meet with a local from the area, who’ll chat to you about day-to-day life in Delhi. We’ll then rendezvous for our next unmissable experience – a visit to Aksardham, a beautiful Hindu temple. The afternoon is then yours to spend as you see fit. If you’d like, you can opt to join us to a pottery workshop at the Clay Company, where you’ll get an introduction to ceramics and a hands-on session at the wheel. Alternatively, you might want to explore Humayun’s Tomb, the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent, or the Qutub Minar – a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Mehrauli area of Delhi.Day 3: VaranasiYou’re up with the dawn chorus today, ready to jump on the train to your next stop – Varanasi! You’ll arrive in the early afternoon and transfer to your next accommodation to drop your bags. We’ll then take you to your next unmissable experience – what better way to greet Varanasi than with a Ghat boat tour, complete with the Ganga Aarti ceremony? After the ceremony, you’ll disembark back onto dry land, where you can grab yourself some dinner before turning in after a long day.Day 4: VaranasiYour second day in Varanasi starts on the water again, as you can opt to join your group for a sunrise boat tour to grab some truly spectacular views. On the way back, be sure to grab yourself a steaming cup of tulsi chai!
